This course provides a comprehensive study of the key elements of voice over IP, or “VoIP”. The focus of this course is to provide an understanding of how VoIP and the components of VoIP for two-wire equivalent cable telephony services. Key areas covered in the training will be circuit switched voice, Internet Protocol (IP), IP multimedia subsystem, session initiated protocol (SIP), PacketCable, peering and troubleshooting voice networks.
Target Audience
This course is designed for technical personnel responsible for design, integration, implementation and management of VoIP platforms. For example, this class would be beneficial to: network architects, back-office system managers, system engineers, technical operations managers, IP network administrators, wireless network planners, NOC managers and mid- to senior-level technicians, and engineering managers.
Recommended Prerequisites
An understanding of the fundamental aspects of IP technology including addressing and packet switched operation
