Advanced Wireless–Certified Wireless Network Administrator® (CWNA)
The Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA®) provides advanced knowledge of RF behavior, modulation, signal loss, operating channels and describes the features and functions of Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) components. Local, regional and international standards for RF power regulations will also be explored; along with RF math required for calculating units of measure. Construction Engineering Professional
The role of the outside plant engineer builds off a comprehensive understanding of all the aspects that go into a construction project. The goal of the “Construction Engineering” course is to help the outside plant engineer understand and comprehend the pitfalls that could delay a construction project. The “Construction Engineering” course covers the old and new ways to do a field survey. In all areas of an operator’s plant, it is important to check for proper clearances and pole loading before any new construction starts. Additionally, the course exposes the outside plant engineer to the make-ready construction process, allowing additional coax or fiber cable placement possible. The course introduces the differences between a right of way and easement, as well as related permits. Engineers also learn how to describe a property accurately and whether it has liens, covenants, and restrictions. Engineers also need to know items that should be in a project design from the beginning to the project's closeout. Finally, the course outlines how to develop a scope of work checklist, explaining all the tasks needed to develop the necessary construction documents.

Digital Basics and DOCSIS® Fundamentals
Discover the models at work in deploying data over telecommunications networks in this course. Learn the principles of digital signals and data transmission, for a better understanding of data transport protocols over local and Wide Area Networks (WANs). Learners discuss the benefits of digital, calculate analog-to-digital-conversion, and examine digital modulation techniques as well as High-Speed Data (HSD) over cable networks using various specifications of DOCSIS.

DOCSIS 3.1 Boot Camp
The SCTE DOCSIS 3.1 Boot Camp is for engineers to gain a solid understanding of the circumstances involved with deploying DOCSIS 3.1 in broadband networks. The program begins with a pre-test, allowing learners to assess their existing DOCSIS knowledge. The pre-test results will point learners to eLearning modules to address gaps in knowledge, allowing learners to have a solid foundation and background for the actual boot camp training. The boot camp is focused on application exercises to ensure that learners walk away, not just with conceptual knowledge, but with the ability to immediately apply their practical skills on the job. The engineering focused program will be delivered in conjunction with two brief eLearning modules for the field.
Topics covered in the DOCSIS 3.1 Boot Camp include the following:
The first section contains a primer on DOCSIS 3.1 and fundamentals of DOCSIS 3.1 downstream operation. Should learners not successfully complete the pre-test at this stage, they are offered mini courses to give them a background on the physical (PHY) layer, on PHY modulation and multiple access technology, MAC data-link layer, and modem initialization.
The second section of the DOCSIS Boot Camp consists of a deep dive in the classroom portion of the boot camp. Herein the following topics are covered: deploying DOCSIS 3.1, detailed initialization procedures, the end-to-end process with respect to DOCSIS 3.1, new frequency plan enhancements, Next Code-word Pointers (NCP) and changes with respect to service groups, MAC domains, profiles, ranging and probing and initialization steps. In addition, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) in action, PHY/OFDM plant testing, spectrum analysis, OFDM generated by test equipment vendors, demonstration of OFDM testing, overall DOCSIS 3.1 testing, explaining advanced troubleshooting, aggregated routing, capacity, hardware, and DOCSIS 3.1 installation.
Finally, the boot camp classroom covers deployment, modem provisioning, cable modem termination system (CMTS) configuration, show commands of CMTS vendor platforms, network maintenance and Proactive Network Maintenance (PNM) in DOCSIS 3.1, troubleshooting network and plant issues using new DOCSIS 3.1 tools, monitoring and testing approaches. The classroom portion of the class is followed by a third section including follow-up activities and digital games emphasizing key points to remember, data input/command examples, implementation and troubleshooting tips, and opportunities to follow-up with the course presenters in threaded discussions and webinars.

Fiber Structured Cabling for Broadband Fiber Installers
This onsite blended training boot camp course is designed to provide learners with the benefits of working with fiber to the premises (FTTP)/FTTx networks to service cable customers. Learners will be able to describe the structured cabling, the organizations/standards involved and the types of passive optical networks (PON) used by cable operators. Learners will be able to differentiate FTTP/FTTx networks from an HFC and Fiber Deep access network. Learners will identify the installation equipment and customer premises equipment (CPE) needed to support FTTP/FTTx networks, along with preparing fiber, working with multiple wavelengths, contrasting optical measurements, and troubleshooting FTTP/FTTx service issues.

Fundamentals of Optical Fiber Transport
A comprehensive course geared toward fundamental comprehension of fiber optic equipment, technology, and troubleshooting. This course is designed to provide a brief overview of fundamental fiber technology then expand on that base to explore the depth of fiber optic cable, systems, services, and maintenance. The course will explore “real world” equipment that is used to splice, monitor, and install fiber optic cable and equipment. In addition, the issues surrounding inside and outside plant safety will be discussed. As the cable industry continues to move into the business services sector and looks for ways to improve the customer quality of experience, bandwidth becomes more a need than a desire. Fiber optic equipment will become the method used in the transport, distribution, and access networks, while continuing to reach closer to a FTTx deployment strategy in order to meet the customer’s bandwidth requirements. Fiber optics has proven it has the capacity to provide the throughput necessary to fulfill the cable network capacity demands. This course will provide the building blocks for technicians, engineers, and OSP installation teams as part of the knowledge necessary to develop the next generation network architecture, transport solutions and high bandwidth services in order to remain competitive in the future.

Navigating the Fiber to the X (FTTx) Roadmap
This Navigating the Fiber to the X (FTTx) course provides essential knowledge of FTTx standard organizations, passive optical network (PON) technologies used in FTTx, and the architectures used by telecommunication operators. This course includes knowledge of RF over Glass (RFoG), Ethernet passive optical network (EPON), gigabit passive optical network (GPON), XGS-PON (10G symmetrical) architectures, and explores the role of DOCSIS Provisioning of xPON (DPoE/DPoG).
